These methods are ideal for women who want safe, reliable natural contraception for the short-term or long-term. The consultations are especially designed for women who do not want to use pharmaceutical methods of contraception for personal reasons, experience side-effects on those methods, or should not use them for health reasons such as high blood pressure, liver disease or history of blood clots. It is not necessary to have a regular monthly menstrual cycle to be able to rely upon modern methods of natural contraception as they can be applied to all cycle situations including: ◊ coming off all the Pill, Depo-Provera, Implanon or Mirena ◊ polycystic ovary syndrome ◊ endometriosis ◊ early menopause ◊ peri-menopause ◊ a situation of "stress" of any kind ◊ being under or over ideal weight and asthma ◊ breastfeeding ◊ combining the use of a diaphragm or condoms with fertility awareness ◊ use of the emergency contraceptive pill; Prostinor-2 Depending on your needs, combining use of a diaphragm or condoms with fertility-awareness, emergency contraception and the 'withdrawal' method can also be covered. Natural methods of contraception are highly effective methods when they are accurately understood and correctly applied. Consultations are on a monthly basis until you have established both confidence and competence in your use of these methods. Use of a Diaphragm Appointments for a diaphragm and education for correct use are available at The Church Street Medical Centre. The diaphragm and contraceptive cream are available for purchase at the appointment. Conceiving Naturally and Optimising Pregnancy Health These consultations are designed for couples who are planning pregnancy or having trouble conceiving. In these consultations you will learn how to optimise your health and fertile potential through lifestyle, supplements and fertility knowledge. This program is designed to shorten time-to-pregnancy. It is important to remember that most couples having trouble conceiving are not biologically infertile, and therefore may conceive naturally with the right information and support. Couples diagnosed with unexplained infertility or a condition known to reduce fertility such as endometriosis and poly cystic ovaries would find this course invaluable. This course has helped many couples to avoid fertility treatment such as IVF. Testimonials I came to see you in 2007 to prepare for pregnancy. Ovulation Prediction Tests and Saliva-Based Fertility Testers The results of saliva-based fertility testers (such as Maybe Baby) and ovulation prediction tests can sometimes be confusing and difficult to interpret. A consultation can help you to use the tests with a better understanding of what the test results mean. Lifestyle Coaching for Menstrual Health and Optimal Wellbeing Most women experience premenstrual symptoms (PMS) of some kind in the two-week period leading up to menstruation. PMS range from annoying or mildly worrisome through to severe and debilitating. This course is designed to help you understand the underlying causes of your symptoms and to establish natural solutions to them through lifestyle, supplements and menstrual charting. The Natural Fertility and Wellbeing Course workbook will be mailed to you and a time will be made for your consultation via the telephone. Pregnancy Counselling Unplanned pregnancy can be a time of crises and supportive counselling is available to help you. Please phone (03) 9830 5280 to make your appointment A referral letter from your GP is not necessary to make your appointment. A certificate of attendance is available upon request for your employer. Appointments are 30 minutes in duration and the fee is $50.00. Telephone consultations are $50.00. A concession of $5.00 on appointment fees is available to full time students and to those who hold a health care card. Payment can be made by cash, credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or cheque. Cheques are made payable to Wise Woman Business. Cancellation Policy Because appointments are 30 minutes in duration and usually booked weeks in advance, please provide a minimum of 2 days notice when cancelling or rescheduling. An administration fee is charged for appointments not attended or cancelled with less than 2 days notice in avoidable circumstances.
