Natural Contraception
This course is for couples who want reliable natural contraception for the short term or the long term.

All women can learn to accurately identify the safe times in their cycle with the correct information and support from a qualified teacher.

The simple charting technique you will learn in this course can be relied upon whether your cycle is regular or irregular.
Three appointments are attended one month apart.

Special natural contraception learning situations would include;

coming off all the Pill, Depo-Provera, Implanon or Mirena
         polycystic ovary syndrome
         endometriosis

early menopause

peri-menopause
a situation of "stress" of any kind

being under or over ideal weight and asthma

breastfeeding

combining the use of a diaphragm or condoms with fertility awareness

use of the emergency contraceptive pill; Prostinor-2

The course can also cover combing use of a diaphragm, condoms or emergency contraception with fertility awareness. A woman's understanding of the fertile time in her cycle may also improve the success rates of these methods.

Couples choose natural contraception over pharmaceutical contraception for many reasons including side- effects and possible longer term adverse consequences of pharmaceutical methods, religious faith, spiritual, environmental and a preference for a natural approach to most things in life, and this course respects all of those reasons.

Diaphragm Fitting and Use Education
Appointments for diaphragm fitting and use education are available at the Women's Clinic on Richmond Hill each Wednesday between 4.30PM and 8PM. The correct sized diaphragm and contraceptive jelly are available for purchase at the appointment.

Natural Conception & Pregnancy
This course is designed for couples who wish to plan and conceive their pregnancies consciously or are having difficulty in getting pregnant.

It is important to remember that most couples diagnosed with infertility have reduced fertility, not biological infertility, and lifestyle changes and natural fertility education may assist them to get pregnant.
This course has helped many couples to get pregnant naturally sometimes after many years of trying.

In this course you will learn how to maximise male and female fertility naturally through life style changes, supplements and menstrual charting to ensure sexual intercourse is being timed accurately with ovulation in the woman's cycle.

A diagnosis with any of the following would make this course particularly helpful:

  unexplained infertility

◊  polycystic ovary syndrome
    endometriosis
  ◊  irregular cycles
    low sperm count
being under or over ideal weight
under significant stress of any kind or taking the fertility Clomid

Use of
ovulation prediction tests such as the Lady Free Fertility Tester or Maybe Baby can sometimes be confusing and difficult to interpret. A consultation can help you understand the accuracy, advantages and limitations of these testers.

Menstrual Wellbeing
Most women experience premenstrual symptoms (PMS) of some kind in the two-week period leading up to menstruation. PMS range from annoying or mildly worrisome through to severe and debilitating. This course is designed to help you understand the underlying causes of your symptoms and to establish natural solutions to them through lifestyle, supplements and menstrual charting.

Telephone Consultations
All courses are available via telephone consultations. Upon request the Natural Fertility and Health Course workbook will be sent to you and consultations take place via phone consultations. STD consultations can take place between 7 and 10 PM Mondays to Fridays.

Course Evaluations:
It is vital that women understand their bodies...It empowers them to have a bigger say in decision making in their reproductive lives...An invaluable workshop...presented in such a simple, interesting and articulate way...A pleasure to listen to...information gained will benefit all our patients..

A most informative, well-presented and valuable session...I would suggest that this program is a must do---so much valuable, empowering knowledge to be gained and is so easy to understand. Reinforces how wonderful we (women) are...

Extremely empowering. I found the principles of self-observation to identify the fertile and infertile phases most informative/educational. It will enable me to re-educate friends/nurses...

This has been excellent in developing my own personal knowledge of my body and fertility cycle. It more than met my expectations...

Enjoyed this immensely. It has not only empowered me, but will enable me to empower other women with valuable information about their bodies. Women need to know what is normal. I will now feel more comfortable talking to mothers I care fore about their fertility and will encourage them to take more notice of their wonderful bodies. Such knowledge enables women to pass the information on to daughters/friends/mothers/sisters etc...

The more we understand about the finer details of how our bodies work, the more can appreciate what is normal and can more readily detect what is not normal...
